Arboretum All-Stars

Over the past 10 years we have seen Arboretum All-Stars move from favorites in our Arboretum and other campus landscapes to widespread use in gardens statewide, but now their profile is literally being elevated even further … Arboretum All-Stars can now be found on roofs!

Sactown's June/July cover article features the “Best of the City” and includes our own Arboretum All-Stars as one of the magazine’s “…latest, greatest collection of people, places and things that deserve some serious hometown love.”

Over the past year the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden has managed to cut back water use across campus by over 30% from 2013 — that is already well above Governor Brown’s recent 25% water reduction mandate. DIY home landscapers interested low-water, easy-care landscapes do not want to miss the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum plant sale.

Two “green” walls were unveiled on Wednesday, December 12 by the Landscape Architecture students. They were designed to feature a variety of Arboretum All-Stars. Ellen Zagory, director of horticulture for the UC Davis Arboretum assisted the students with their plant selections.
