Event Date
Join us for a volunteer day!
Spend Veterans Day giving back to the land at the UC Davis Putah Creek Riparian Reserve! Join our California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) fellows for a hands-on day of habitat restoration, where we’ll turn pruned branches into brush piles that give local wildlife shelter and, if time permits, flag oak saplings so they can be easily found and cared for.
Event details
Volunteers ages 14+ will work alongside Reserve staff and CCAC fellows in one big group to build brush piles, create new wildlife habitat and support California native plant establishment. Your efforts will advance our broader habitat stewardship work at the Reserve.
Participants who register will receive additional details before the event.
Meeting Location
We will be meeting at the UC Davis Sheep Barn at 103-6 Brooks Rd, Davis (adjacent to the UC Davis Putah Creek Riparian Reserve). Parking is available in front of the barn. Bicycles can be brought to the site where they will be kept secure behind a fence.
Volunteers will leave the Sheep Barn promptly at 9 a.m. and walk to the work site. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
