Member-at-large
A retired molecular biologist and part of the Davis community since 1992, Donna has been a UCCE Master Gardener and a Certified California Naturalist. She has enjoyed a variety of volunteer roles with the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, including as a naturalist tour guide for grade school students in the 2000’s and as a volunteer gardener supporting the Gateway and Putah Creek Parkway gardens since 2013.
In 2017 Donna completed Gardening for Pollinators training with Ellen Zagory and has presented gardening workshops and has staffed information tables at Arboretum plant sales and public outreach events. In fall 2023 she completed the Climate-Ready Gardening course coordinated by Rachel Davis and has enjoyed learning and working alongside fellow Master Gardeners and Learning by Leading students.
She has been impressed with the dedication and many accomplishments of the Arboretum staff, students, and volunteers. The Friends of the Arboretum and Public Garden play a crucial role in supporting their efforts and the mission of the Arboretum and Public Garden.
Donna was elected to the Board of Directors of the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden in 2024. Donna Moyer hopes that her interest and experience in research, public education, and public outreach are an ongoing valuable addition to the Friends Board.
